Haven’t seen anything from you in a while. Always happy to see your post though. As you know I’m β€œold” compared to you kids here. I’m retired in my middle 50’s. It’s encouraging to see someone not tying their life to their job. I didn’t work in tech or even an office myself and the TV shows and movies I’ve seen make it look miserable. I would have never been able to listen to all the bullshit that is spouted daily in those jobs. The way I see it is it’s hard to know what you want when you’re young and growing up every day and year. Plenty of people never find it. Danielle looks like she has found hers. That’s awesome and I’d assume she will have happiness her entire life. My goals were simpler. I had 2 kids by 27. They are about the same age as Danielle and her friends. They are living their lives. My daughter has it figured out with her job and shit. My son? He’s doing his best but seems to have found something recently. I’m divorced from their mother and it wasn’t a pleasant experience so my relationship with my kids suffered because of it. That aside the thing Danielle gets is none of us knows how long we got here on this blue rock. It could a bus or god forbid a sickness that takes any of us out. If you put off doing the fun stuff and stick it on some ledger that is meant to get back to you’ll never do most of it. Age doesn’t matter because your priorities change. What might be interesting at 25 might seem lame or impossible to do at 60. Take the Nike slogan and β€œjust do it”. You’ll be happy you did and have the stories behind it to tell everyone. I’m doing everything I want to and have been for my entire life. The priorities were different when you have the family and the kids are growing up. Now, I have my second wife who just about as crazy as I am and nothing stops us from what we want to do. Next, is either buying or renting an RV and going to every SEC (South Eastern Conf) home team football game. Alabama is the last against their hated in state rival Auburn for the Iron Bowl. I’m not keeping any money to leave but the house we live in. So there won’t be any noses bent outta shape when the will is read. If I go first then my wife can do what she pleases. I won’t know anyway. You can only plan so much of your life. The best is to live it at the fullest. YOUR FULLEST. Good piece Dani!

I used to go on LinkedIn

But got tired of all the spin

Shitposting is fun

And when you are done

You finish it all up for a win!

Aww I love how there’s a little life lesson at the end of the hilarious shit posting story.

You don’t have to worry about being less funny when you get old. There will be less competition when you get there.

Mustard is inspired by you. They don’t know what they want to do yet but they know that you have inspired them to want to do something fun and nonsensical in an ethical way.

Every time I open LinkedIn (which is rare these days) the first post I see is someone is leaving their job due to massive layoffs or they can’t get a job even though they have an incredible CV.

If anything your posts make me actually want to open LinkedIn because it’s funny and makes scrolling through a lot more bearable. I think you’re onto something here. They should be paying you for this service.

Okay I'm so honored for the call out as a funder of mischief.

And 100% all of this, you have inspired me to be more chaotic in my own corner of the world.

Danielle, I can’t imagine you ever becoming out of touch or less funny!πŸ˜„

I have a theory that so many people here are LinkedIn expats. Meaning this is *the best* place to talk shit about LinkedIn.

The only thing that keeps LinkedIn tolerable nowadays is the parody accounts.

Thank you for your service

Danielle, this is simultaneously inspiring and hilarious, I must admit that I've thought about taking the piss over on LinkedIn, I barely use it but when I do take a quick peek I see how soul destroyingly yucky it is. I'd say let's get all of Substack to go shit post over there, turn the place into a free for all.
